Abstract
Ruđer Bošković is one of the most prominent scientists of his time, born on May 18, 1711, Dubrovnik, Croatia, died on February 13, 1787, Milan, Italy. Bošković is: astronomer, mathematician, physicist, diplomat, philosopher, poet, surveyor and engineer. He was one of the first scientists who tried to explain the eclipse of the Sun and the Moon. Ruđer's major work "Theoria philosophiae naturalis" is extremely important for today's understanding of many problems in philosophy and natural sciences. The work contains Bošković's presentations on matter and forces acting in nature.
